Nationally Certified Skills Trainer Steve Jacobson

Steve Jacobson is a certified basketball skills trainer and a successful high school basketball coach with over a decade of experience. He has coached both boys and girls teams at schools of all sizes, from 1B, 2A and 4A programs to his current coaching role at a 3A school.
Coach Jacobson was named head coach at Peninsula High School in Gig Harbor in mid-June 2011. During his first year at Peninsula, Coach Jacobson worked with two all-league performers. According to MaxPreps.com, post Tyler Stolz finished third among all 3A players in rebounds per game and guard Leigh Iosia was seventh in 3-point field goals per game.
From 2008-2011, Jacobson coached 4A girls basketball at historic Stadium High School in Tacoma, Washington. During that span, Coach Jacobson's teams improved in all facets of the game including win-loss record, scoring defense, total rebounding and 3-point field goals.
His experience began at the 2A level as a volunteer coach at Pullman High for three-time Great Northern League coach of the year Ken Swanger. He spent four years at the 1B level working with the Colton High boys for two years and the Colton High girls for two years under Clark Vining, two-time1B coach of the year. Coach Jacobson assisted four state tournament qualifying teams, including two runner-up finishers.
He was a state championship athlete for Washington's Newport High School in Bellevue and was part of the University of Washington Huskies 1994 football team. He was trained by one of the world's leading basketball skills trainers, Ganon Baker.
He holds a bachelor of science degree in kinesiology from Washington State University, a Washington state teaching certificate, and current certifications in first aid and CPR. Coach Jacobson is known for his charismatic leadership and his dynamic training style that always puts his players first and challenges them to perform at their best.
